Below are a few options and tips for introducing Stamp Me while supporting customers who still have paper punch cards during the change.
Option 1: Ongoing Transition
This is the most common approach.
Whenever a customer presents a paper card, staff should help them sign up to Stamp Me and transfer their existing stamps at that time (via manual stamps or multiple taps).
The paper card should not be returned, and no new paper cards should be issued. Over time, customers are gradually migrated to the digital program whenever a paper card is presented.
Option 2: Introduce a Trade-In Period
Another option is to introduce a limited trade-in period.
During this time, customers can exchange their paper cards for digital stamps in the Stamp Me app. A clear cut-off date should be communicated, after which paper cards will no longer be accepted.
This approach can help accelerate the transition to digital.
Tip: Incentivise the Switch
Encourage your customers to adopt the Stamp Me app by offering special rewards and perks for switching early.
If you haven't already, we recommend setting up a sign up reward to motivate your customers to join.
Tip: Support Staff & Customers
Equip your team to confidently explain the change and help onboard customers.
Tips:
Provide your staff with printed guides on how Stamp Me works so they can communicate it to your customers.
Share a short training video internally so everyone's on the same page.
Tip: Communicate the Transition Clearly
Clear communication is key to customer adoption. Let your customers know why you're switching and what’s in it for them.
We recommend in addition to displaying your Stamp Me marketing materials, it's a good idea to communicate through social media posts, email newsletters, and on your website around the switch and how it works.
